| Candid Wines was honored to receive support from an amazing array of the wine lovers, wine writers, critics and members of the news media. M. Aubert de Villaine Co-Owner and wine maker at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, M. de Villaine is one of the wine world's most revered producers. He provided detailed comments to Damien on all the wines tasted, sent a signed copy of Richard Olney's Romanée-Conti as a gift to Coach Popovich, and signed another one of our silent auction items, Robert Parker's The World's Greatest Wine Estates. Jancis Robinson, MW Master of Wine, educator, prolific wine author and producer of www.jancisrobinson.com, Jancis has kindly mentioned Candid Events and published our tasting notes in her Fine Wine News and Tasting Notes sections. . Robert Parker Jr. Perhaps the most influential voice in wine today, author of The Wine Advocate, and numerous wine books, Mr. Parker donated a signed copy of his latest, The World's Greatest Wine Estates, as a silent auction item. "The Prince of Pinot" Rusty Gaffney helped us spread the word about the event , and then published an extensive report on DRC including a few pictures from our evening. He was also kind enough to introduce us to a number of great California Pinot producers, including Fred and Judi Scherrer. Great find Prince! The PinotFile is a terrific source of education for Pinot lovers. To subscribe to this free, informative and ad-free newsletter, go to this page. Bottega del Vino Crystal Robert Hall, President of Bottega del Vino Crystal, donated an incredible set of stemware for our silent auction. Furthermore, he donated the use of all the stems we used the night of the tasting. Bottega del Vino believes that "If the wine matters, so does the glass". Nowhere is that more true then when pouring DRC. We are grateful. Naha Restaurant Executive Chef Carrie Nahabedian and cousin Michael Nahabedian donated both their food and time, personally preparing and serving tasting portions with each wine flight.
