Champagne Pierre Moncuit in the New York Times

Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil in ChampagnePierre-Moncuit’s Non Vintage blend is a regular in national media outlets as wine wrtiers search for great value in Champagne.  As a grower-producer with Grand Cru status, that sells for the same or less than major national brands, Moncuit’s Cuvée Moncuit Delos NV is frequently cited as one of the best.

In this case, Eric Asimov and his tasting panel called it a “Best Value”.

“Among our top 10 were several very good smaller producers, like Pierre Moncuit, whose precise, chalky Grand Cru Brut was both our No. 3 wine and, at $43, our best value.”
