Domaine de L’Ecu has long set the standard for single vineyard, biodynamically farmed Muscadet. On an annual visit to Chicago and Candid Wines, Fred Niger sat down with the team at Ask a Winemaker for a conversation that touched on the wines from Granite, Gneiss and Orthogneiss, of course, but also a look at his integration of Amphora and still red wines into Ecu’s offering.
Browse through the playlist for a definition of Egiodola, thoughts on pairing Muscadet with anything but oysters, farming red grapes around Nantes, and Fred’s thoughts on his partner, Guy Bossard.

Thanks to Johnny and the team at Rootstock for opening early, and for pouring so many wines from Ecu.
