Jo Landron, at Perman Wine in Chicago
The Wine Doctor, Chris Kissack, has written about Jo Landron & Domaine de la Louvetrie on his website helping to spread Jo’s work to English speaking wine lovers (Jo’s site is only in French). Like his close neighbor, Guy Bossard, Jo Landron farms biodynamically producing exquisite fruit to produce his lively and worthwhile wines.
Chris touches upon the importance of the biodynamic farming and preserving the terroir of each of Jo’s vineyard sites. The Amphibolite Nature, Hermine d’Or cuvee, Fief du Breil are all on unique soils which Chris clearly breaks down. Jo’s domaine blend, Domaines Landron, is the only blend of the various soil types. The note on Jo being quite popular in the Far East, in particular with his Atmosphères, has always brought a bit of a chuckle since he has even been featured in a wine comic!
