| one acre fund This is not a picture of young vines, this the picture of hope. One Acre Fund empowers the chronically hungry to pull themselves out of poverty, and they do it one cash crop at a time. Started less than two years ago, OAF has helped a group of families in Kenya increase the yield from their crops by as much as 400%, and can claim to have reduced the infant mortality rate amongst its farmers significantly. Founder Andrew Youn was moved to start the Fund after witnessing heartbreaking poverty during trips to South Africa and Kenya when he was attending the Kellogg School of Management. Eschewing the large salary he certainly could have earned with his degree from one of the country's most prestigious MBA programs, Andrew has focused his time and remarkable energy and brains on building a sustainable model that will help families climb out of poverty. Join us on October 2nd, 2008 for the 2nd annual Gala at The Ritz-Carlton! |

| From American Magazine: "Since One Acre started the program, it has enrolled about 2,000 farmers in Kenya and Rwanda. Not a bad beginning, but Youn’s immodest goal is to help millions." Read More. |
