Guillot-Broux and Good Funk West Town!

Wednesday, November 5th, 5-7 PM at Good Funk West Town: Meet Emmanuel Guillot-Broux, whose family planted Burgundy's first organic vineyard in 1954. His father Jean-Gérard worked in Meursault, then returned to the Mâconnais in 1978 and recognized the same vineyard names — Les Perrières, Les Combettes, Les Genièvrières — on abandoned plots. He bought forested land for almost nothing, spent decades clearing it, and uncovered 2-meter stone walls proving these were historic sites. Emmanuel will pour wines from these re-established vineyards, including ungrafted Chardonnay that shows what Burgundy tasted like before phylloxera.
